Two day race meeting 34 cars entered (in total)

Pretty poor show. Well out of reach for the average clubbie racer, not seeming to bring enough prestige to find a place on the ‘ladder’- now they’re off the TOCA package there is no appeal at all to any who can raise the funds/sponsorship.
I just pray that they can keep the Junior series healthy as that is absolutely top tier and UK motorsport is far better off for its existence. Since they’ve been running their own weekends I’ve tried hard to follow on YouTube, but honestly apart from the Juniors which keep me glued the rest of their series are pretty dire, very little in the way of competition and driving standards not the highest- a fast-forward fest and not for the want of trying.
Here’s hoping the BRSCC can fix it, if any club can it’s them as they seem to be running superbly at the moment.

There appears to be 12 cars entered in today’s Britcar 6 hour race at Donington.

Yeah, Britcar have not read the room at all and it shows in their grid numbers. Their entry fees are mental and people have voted with their feet.Free practice

Must admit that I haven’t been following closely but I thought there normal events with 2 hour main events (?) and 1 hour trophy events (?) were fairly decent grids.
The normal events have big total grids…. 18-22 endurance and 20+ trophy but first race of season in trophy had 42…. Im sticking with it until the end but interesting to see what they do next year. It’s a lovely group of organisers and they make the events feel very special, however, I’m not sure that’s what most want and it seems it’s hard to attract numbers.
15 for BEC at the last round, 21 for Trophy.
The problem is that the entry fees are VERY high compared to other clubs and they don’t really give anything extra for the extra money. People will always look for value or money. I for one don’t mind paying more if I am getting more for my money, but paying 2-3 times what other clubs are charging for the same thing is not going to work for me.

Cadwell often seems to suffer from low grid numbers. I've raced there in series that get 20+ cars for somewhere like Snett or Donington but get single figures there.
This! It's such an amazing track to drive, and a rewarding challenge, however it's not without it's risks which many will shy away from
