E46 M3 - Anyone racing one here ?
Discussion
Looking for some pearls of wisdom from fellow M3'ers please.
Are the larger rear wings really a worthwhile upgrade, do they add a chunk of stability at speed ? vs a larger CSL style flick ? I only ask as I personally find them quite ugly but if needs be then it needs to be ?
4.1 final drive ratio, must have or nice to have? I have a std final drive atm afaik.
I remember reading a long while back the 5 spd box was more desirable than the 6sp on some other BMW's , does this apply to an E46 M3 ?
Are gearbox and diff coolers needed for the shorter 15/20min races, or just endurance ?

Get yourself into the CSCC facebook and whatsapp groups. Plenty of M3s of all generations being used, and they are very very fast cars.
Always fascinating that of "the big three", you never see a fast Merc or Audi being successfully run in a multi-make series, with pretty open classes.

Price, availability of parts etc ? The BMW's are common as muck, so anything you'd ever need, is readily available. Plus they're obviously good chassis etc to start withAlways fascinating that of "the big three", you never see a fast Merc or Audi being successfully run in a multi-make series, with pretty open classes.
