I don't think there is a route published for spectators, it's a road rally after all - some of the route isn't told to the crews until the last minute. Perhaps one way of getting close to the action would be to help by marshalling? Drop a line too enquiries@hero-era.com and I'm sure they could point you in the direction of someone.Seems to be heading up the east side this year, overnight in Newcastle Sunday night then the usual 24 hour non stop to Jog. They will be doing the Loch Ness monster regularity again, that will be Monday night.
Spectator info will be released in the next day or so, but as mentioned above the full route will be secret, you will probably get a few passage control locations and have to work back from that.
Think it was Elgin Car club who were desperate for Marshals to fulfil their commitments to the event the other day.
