Returning to normality - spectators
Discussion
If anyone wants to support club Motorsport and come along to watch some of our fantastic 750mc events, here's a link to our calendar..
https://www.750mc.co.uk/calendar.htm
I am racing at the end of may at croft and it's been confirmed that spectators will be welcome. I believe this should go for any other events too from now on.

In the case of our 750MC events the word on spectators has been coming from the circuits as it's up to them to comply with the guidelines. I can see MSV are allowing people to book tickets for events online too, so it must be ok under the latest rules. On the other hand the Welsh government have just cancelled our race in Anglesey in June over covid variant fears.. What racing are you doing anyway mate? Long time no see!

I’m co driving in this. The racing is called comp safari and it’s like a cross between rallying and really fast green laning. This was at the last event; https://youtu.be/-mOXhU59_nI
In our case we’re racing through woods/fields so it’s not as there would be spectators close together in grandstands so I can’t see what the huge risk is.

king idiotic.
The retards in the Welsh government have their own agenda unfortunately. It's OK for me to play Bingo, gamble, watch a film or live theatre indoors with hundreds of others though. It's completely stupid.

Anyway... During the year if anyone pops along to a 750MC event with Sports 1000 on the lineup, come say hi!

That looks a lot of fun, if a bit brutal!!! Do you have to sit on a pillow?
awesome
It is really brutal! You definitely make sure your harness is tight and at times the Hans is the only thing keeping your head up!
Weirdly with all the adrenaline it doesn’t seem that bad apart from trying to keep your head upright.
I’ll be along to a meet at some point, it’ll be good to catch up with you.
Sadly the Anglesey decision was out of the hands of the Circuit and Club and sits solely with Cardiff. Apparently there are concerns that visitors from the North West hot spots of the new variant will bring in the virus by traveling to larger events... I will refrain from further comment as it won't be polite. I know first hand the circuit team and the businesses locally that depend on and benefit from the revenues of those visiting are keen for events to return.
But on the positive I'm looking forward a cracking August weekend there instead. Hopefully as its school holidays some of those visiting can make it an extended weekend and enjoy some of the local scenery as well.
I'll be at Donington on Sunday as well - I'm out in the 116's sharing car 77.
Forecast looks patchy which should make it interesting and unpredictable!

Yes, same stance the club running the Whaddon Comp on the 31st has had to take until MSUK update their guidance.A tad unfair that Mr Palmer can line his pockets but people can't spectate for free in a massive field in the great outdoors.
Interestingly, I got my tickets in the post this morning for the Thruxton Historic meeting mid-June and they mention paddock access - not sure if that is just generic text or if they will be fully open in advance of the next phase starting on 21 June.
Hopefully that June date will see the smaller venues that had no spectator events in 2020 opening up again.

I wonder if the idiots will extend this to south Wales. I'm at Pembrey in early June so fingers crossed.

I will be at Croft, cannot wait to be honest, I loved the 750mc events ( and others) so much that my mate and I bought season tickets (now received this years) for Croft (along with our local Knockhill), it's fantastic and close racing but like any other circuit it seems if it's not BTCC it's relatively quiet...
The spectating is advanced ticket only and is from the first corner to the chicane only I believe.

Hi Trev, unfortunately it's a blanket Welsh restriction, so Pembrey is affected. If it does go ahead by some miracle, I'll see you there! Croft today, CSCC Donington tomorrow and CSCC / HSCC Cadwell the following two weekends - making up for lost time .
BUT the different approach being taken by venues is absurd . My local hill climb is off limits altogether 'until further notice' , Croft is , for reasons best known itself , confining spectators to Clervaux- Chicane and the only reason I am in the paddock tomorrow is that I have a pass.
Yet last weekend it was business as usual , flavoured with a hefty dose of common sense , at our local dragstrip . And I can eat out , shop , go to the cinema, play cricket on the green , walk in the park etc as normal . Last year I asked one venue who was imposing the restriction - 'it's all MSUK ' - so I asked MSUK -'no, we just offer guidance.' It is a total buggers' muddle .

The agreement between the government and MSUK was that competitors and spectators would be kept separate. That is why Harewood has no spectators at present. Croft has limited spectators locations for the same reason. ( Though they could perhaps allowed them around towards tower) The drag race isn't an MSUK event. At Donington and Cadwell spectators will not be allowed in the paddock.
Where is the inconsistencie?
