Hello all,

There's a few of these for sale for a decent price, has anyone raced in this series and would be able to give me a estimate of how much a season would cost (how long is a piece of string, I know) either arrive and drive or self reliant.

Seriously considering racing in 2022, if I can make it add up. (Im currently doing many Trackdays this year having stopped road rallying last year, but I miss fighting for position like I did in club 100)

I race in the Hyundai cup and it is a really good series. The cars are very forgiving and perform very well. It is difficult to say how much a season (7races) would cost as it depends how much you do yourself, race entry is around £375 I think, add in say 60 litres of fuel and that’s your low point. Realistically I’d say budget £1k a race. This pretty much goes across any budget series and anyone who says less is just misleading you.

A big factor in favour of the Hyundais is that driving standards are good and damage is low. This can be a very big factor in the cost of racing. My previous series cost me pretty much the same again in damage repairs. This has been minimal for me in the Hyundais.

In short the cars are well matched, the paddock atmosphere is good and entry numbers are strong and I would definitely recommend the series. Finally, one of the cars available (black and orange) is 2020s series winning car so a genuine front runner.
