UK Motorsport motorhome rental
Discussion
Evening everyone!
I want a motorhome to take with me while competing in National Motorsport next year and without appropirate upfront funds and space to store I need to rent one.
I have done a lot of searching but I can't seem to find anyone that rents out solutions for motorsport - so 3.5 tonne for car licence and one with a big garage/awning/towing capacity etc. I would have thought this might be already out there but doesn't seem to be the case I can only find the big Winnebago's that are delivered to the track for you more hospitality but I am after taking one there and one that has a proper GH type awning to house a car - so a ready to go motorsport package. Towing capability a big bonus.
Surprised this isn't out there already - if it is does anyone know any companies that do? Or any reason's it isn't already offered that I am missing?
Thanks very much

Only rented mid sized motorhome once to go to Spa - cost the same as a decent holiday after all paid for plus had the pleasure of emptying the waste out on our return
Never again...
If you get a decent sized covered trailer then you can fix an awning off the side plus put some beds in the trailer
Another alternative would be a high top transit van converted to offer overnight accom plus the benefit of a towbar and much easier to store
Good luck

What about something like this

Not such a big capital outlay.

I think most motorhome rental companies steer clear of fitting tow-bars as they can create more trouble than they are worth with people over-loading etc. A friend hired a motorhome for a holiday a few years ago, he wanted a tow-bar to take his jet ski and he really struggled to find one.
Have you considered buying one and keeping it at a storage location? You are likely to find one within a decent radius and cost is typically in the range of £50 - £75 per month, a year of storage fees would cost you less than renting a motorhome over a couple of weekends.
