Hi, I’m hoping to run in the Inter-series event at Spa this year with the CSCC. If anyone has done it before then any advice would be appreciated!

Main questions are- scrutineering. Are we now playing by FIA rules? What main differences do I need to be aware of?

Also- staying in the paddock. Plan is, pretty much as in the UK, pitch up with the race rig, grab some real estate and call it home for the weekend. Still a go-er over there?

Race format- for the inter-series. Does it run to the traditional 40min CSCC format?

Plus any general advice gratefully accepted, extra kit to take, things to be aware of etc.

Cheers beers beer

I've raced at Spa with the 750mc for the last 2 years from memory the main things were that seats had to be in date and that fire proof underwear was required rather than recommended.

I was racing a friends car so he took care of the prep and therefore may well be things I've missed.

Hi, David from the CSCC here byebye

Firstly, you'll love it, it's a brilliant, relaxed event. Secondly, get your entry in asap as it's filling up quickly. Lastly, give us a call in the office when you're free on 01225 810655 and we'll happily answer each point.

In brief, scrutineering is a mix of our UK rules plus a few more, namely in date FIA seat, FIA cage padding and full fireproof undies.

Most CSCC drivers stay on site, grass is a bit limited immediately in our area, although loads a short distance away (bring some midge spray if we get a still night!).

Race format depends on which series you are in this year, give us a call and we can explain. You will either have 2x40 minute pit stop races or a 40 and 2x20min legs.

Other things to know, quite a bit, but off the top of my head....make you assemble far earlier than you would do normally, they will not wait and it take a long time to do the lap to the grid, pause, then a green flag lap and start, so you need to be ready and assembled a good 30 minutes early. Take your race kit with you when you sign on as it is checked in the same building. We have an FOC BBQ on the Friday night. Anticipate all weathers, last year we had crazy hot, dry weather, but it is usually expected to have rain at least once over the weekend.
If you haven't already done so add yourself to your CSCC series facebook group and ask your last sentence again there for more tips.

Hope to see you there, regards, David

Not surprising but still a shame that the Spa Summer Classic has today been cancelled. I had really hoped this might have been the start of the CSCC season.
