Racing boot repairs?
Discussion
Sadly, with my experience of Alpine Stars stuff, I wouldn't bother.
I've had gloves with a hole after 2 races (which I struggled to get replaced - as even the retailer suggested AS needn't do very good kit & what did I expect?!). Holes in nomex underwear, that really shouldn't, after only a few races. My boots are wearing very thin and probably about to hole too.
I like the AS brand, but won't be buying anything else from them.

Almost feels disposable now. The quality is really poor. My ancient sparco suit was brilliant for ages until finally (like 10 years) the zip broke.
Alpine Stars boots, gloves and suit seem to last 5 mins. The suit was holed after about 3 races.
My wife sewed a new sparco zip into my old suit with nomex thread, so it's back in action!
Are there any brands that are any good?
And no I doubt you'll get your boots fixed

I have a pair of Sabelt boots in black/silver, which are fabulous boots! They are size 44, and are brand new in the box and I want £70 for them, I wear the same boots, and they are so good, I bought myself another pair for when mine wear out! The size 44 were for someone I coach (a junior), but he wanted red to suit his race suit, gloves etc, hence the reason for selling! They retailed at £170, but they are now discontinued! I can send you a photo if interested, on Sunday. HTHBertBert said:

YHM and for Bert Bert that stands for "you have mail" Ahh, sorry the question was a bit too cryptic for you. To help, I was asking about a 'your local cobbler'. I doubt that very many people have one of those.
I'll try and keep it simpler for you in future.
