I'm looking at some of the Alpinestars Tech 1-Z gloves and some size charts say L and others say XL. I measured around my hand as being 9.5" and I'm interested to know what size others have gone with if any of you have similar measurements!

No experience myself of car gloves but 9.5 will be inbetween L and XL. Alpinestars motorbike clothing in general is on the small side so I'd probably go XL if there is any similarity.

The ONLY way you're going to be sure is to try them on.

I presume you intend to buy online. If so, check their returns policy as most places will exchange if they don't fit so long as you keep original packaging, etc.

Alpinstars gloves sizes are not consistent.
I have GP Plus and they are L size, fit perfectly.
I have GP Pro and they are XL size, fit perfectly. I tried GP Pro in L and they were too small.

I have Supertech R boots in 43, but all my other shoes are 44.

You need to try these things before buying, or be able to return if they do not fit.

OK guys thanks for the help. I guess the different fit for different ranges explains the contradictory size charts.

I'd always recommend ordering both and trying them. I was between sizes for my last pair and it was a tricky decision, between resistance when bending my fingers on the smaller size and the bagginess catching on things on the bigger size.

Definitely XL.

I'm a 10 and an XL in Alpine Stars gloves.

I have a similar issue.... I have a pair of really comfy gloves bought a number of years ago - size SMALL !!!..... but I also have a pair of equally comfortable gloves bought a few years later marked XL...........

Well just to update, I received the XL gloves and they fit quite comfortably but I'm not completely happy, not sure the fingers are quite long enough and the bit between thumb and index finger doesn't sit against my hand but is lifted away from it.

Ordered the XXL to compare in the end and will send back the one which is worst. thumbup

Different brands will fit differently. I'm very much a mail order person, but I always order more than one size or brand to see which fits best.
