shesley walsh hill climb
Discussion
Hi All
I have entered my 1st hill climb on the 18th at the above which is the reg phillips trophy. I entered online via the MAC site however I know that the SBD speed championship has a limited number of entries. Has anyone done this event and if so how did you find out if you got a place!
I'm used to racing where if you can enter/pay then you are in, however I have heard that the hill climb entries fill up well in advance. There is no confirmed start list and prior to calling MAC tomorrow thought I would ask here 1st.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks for the response, yes I joined the Barc and HSA speed championships to give me a good choice of events. I guess I'll find out at the end of the week (1 week before the event)?
That sounds a bit 'late' - I usually received confirmation two weeks before. Hope you get an entry.
Entry list usually posted out the week before , but they have started emailing as well . Worth giving Rachel a call or email the office . They do turn away a lot of entries ( due to over subscription ) so if you are registered for a relevant championship that helps . I've entered that day and now I've found out the engine issue at the 4th June meeting , hope to complete all the runs ....
shelsey is a great hill - enjoy it. here is my last run up there. https://youtu.be/AcCZLwkJThk
Hi Steve,
Nice to meet you on Sunday. I trust you had a good day and will be back for more!
Here is a video of my last run:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_l6Ybuc4RE&t=...
The extra power really helps on a steep hill! Hope to meet up again at another event.
Cheers,
Simon

Sunday was also my first time at Shelsley, driving my trusty Clio 172 Cup. What a fabulous place to drive a car up a hill, I enjoyed every second.

38.67 for a bog standard car on list 1a tyre is an absolutely storming time! Well done!
Excellent, thanks - that's good to know! It felt quite quick but I was a bit cautious through the Esses as I'd messed up my first timed run.I'm planning to do the double-header in September, it'll be good to see if I can whittle off a few more tenths...
I also watched you from the commentary box at crossing!
Well, I'm doing 37.1s in an RX8 on Nankang AR1s and your speed trap speeds aren't so very different to mine.
I am doing a 10.1 in the esses though, and you are doing an 11.1 - and the answer is simple - tyres. If you were on 1 B you'd find a second.
- looking at your lines, there is a half second to come off from improving those. Late turn in and apex is the key.
Come and find me in September and I would be happy to walk the hill with you - Ali Lowe (direct messages on here don't find me!)
