Wow - 40 car grid at Snetterton today for the 1st round of Trackday Championship. Congratulations Stuart and the MSVT team for creating this new cost effective championship, and good luck to all the friends that I've raced with over the last 6
years in trackday and team trophy. Wish I was there but will be following you on TSL.

Was a good days racing at Snett yesterday in changeable conditions. Driving standards seem much better. There's a few changes from TT, single drivers no longer have to do a 10s longer pit stop than two driver teams and single drivers can stay in the car rather than getting out, shutting the door, opening the door and then getting back in. 45 minute races instead of 1hr and sponsors prizes for class winners!!

Quali was in the dry and seemed to end without problems for most teams. Come race time the track had nearly dried out following torrential rain and nearly everyone went to the holding area with dry tyres on. Then it tipped it down. A wet race resulted in quite a few offs and a few DNF's but from what I could see nobody had any big problems. Certainly I didnt get any contact throughout the whole race nor did I see any. Safety car out for ten minutes right at the end of the race (coudnt see why) so everyone bunched up and people lost their leads and then it was a one lap dash for the line.

Stuart and Sam did a great job organising everything as usual and the tweeks they have made to the regs and the fact its now a championship has meant 3 times the amount of cars on the grid compared to last years season opener at Snett.

Next race 29th May Silverstone National

I had to LOL, James Britton in the Class A BMW M3 I imagine is the same car and driver who beat my mate (by not a lot) to Class D honours in 2010 in the TDT.....

He must have had a lot of ballast in to get an M3 into class D

There are 2 living legends that actually beat the all the class A cars for an outright win a class D Peugeot.

I can't remember exactly, but wasn't Britton's blue E36 in class B, and he consistently won outright. When they took a dyno to a race I think he was reclassified to A. He was always been a quick driver and probably would have won outright even if his car was a B. Yesterday, his 2.14 was on the money for a class A car round Snet. Also big applause to Ryan Steel in his Saxo for a superb last lap after the S/C to move up to 2nd overall.
