I'm competing in two events this year, one is similar to time attack, the other is a track based sprint event.
Which tyres will be best out of the MSA 1b list for this sort of event? I was going for the Toyo R888 as they warm up pretty quick, however, just noticed that the R1R is also available in a size that perfectly suits my wheels. So which tyre would be the best of those two? or if you have any better suggestions, please fire them this way.
Thank you

I was under the impression that R888's were not going to be available anymore. I've ordered a set of R888R's for my race car
General feedback I've heard is that the R888R's last longer and have more grip although the R888 could be a slightly better tyre in the wet so I've kept the best 4 I have on an old set of wheels to try for myself.

Quite positive, albeit limited, feedback here on the R888R. 888's do still seem to be available depending upon size required.
