Hi,

I'm (hopefully) going to be getting my racecar very soon, and need to get some decals made for sponsors. They won't need to be fancy, just company branding rather than a full or partial "wrap".

Also, how hard is it to do a decent DIY job? If you'd reccomend getting someone to do it for me, the recommendation would need to be someone in Bristol/Gloucestershire?

Thanks!

I know someone in Burnham-on-sea, which is a bit past Bristol admittedly, but he has done some quality work, including designing and fitting the sponsors graphics to a race truck recently. He can travel a bit I think, depends what you want.

PM, (if it's working), and I will pass on his contact details.

Edit to add some photos of truck.

How it started

How it ended.

if you've got the logos, your local vinyl sign shop can cut out the required logos for minimal cost - alternatively you can buy a cheap vinyl cutter on Ebay and D.I.Y.

Applying them yourself isn't too difficult either unless the panels are very complicated in shape.

How fancy do you want?
Especially if a single colour will do, the DiY. A little while with a pencil to copy designs onto Fablon (Adhesive vinyl aka "Stickyback plastic")
and the use of a scalpel. and Voila!

Have to admit, multicolour gets a bit labourious.

Hi,sorry if this reply is a little late but it maybe of interest to others. It can be quite easy or very frustrating getting vinyl to stick in the right place and looking professional. The easiest method is to use small pieces of masking tape stuck to the panel as reference points, spray the panel with a mild soap water mix, this gives you plenty of time to slide the vinyl into the desired position, you then with the aid of a plastic scrapper smooth all air and water from under the decal.I purchased the correct scrapper from the vinyl shop.As with all DIY have a trial run with scrap off cuts. There is no issues with the vinyl adhering to a wet surfifice.Regards Baz

Thanks Ross - that's a top shout; only 20 minutes from my house, so I've dropped them a line. Would you rate their exhausts too? I will likely need some exhaust work done st some point in the season too.

Shurely your sponsors should provide some stickers, why do you have to cough up?

Sponsors are paying - it just makes sense logistically for me to organise and get it all done in one go.
