Hey everybody, looking at doing some racing in a Radical to use as practice for some other gentleman driver opportunities in an LMP3 car and I was wondering which Radical to go for to get the best practice for prototype driving.

I've been told by a friend that the SR3 is just as good as the SR8 but a lot cheaper to run. Was wondering if anybody who had driven both could advise in terms of cornering speeds/top speeds and costs of running!?

Thanks

An SR3 would be a similar pace to an LMP3 car.
More agile than a P3 car but at a fraction of the running cost.
An SR8 is a faster SR3, I don't see why you would need the extra grunt of the SR8, or the extra cost.

And a PR6 or an SR1 on slicks is even less expensive and can give an SR3 a run on a shorter track.

I can imagine this might sound a bit strange, but how about an Osella ? http://www.osella.it/
Past F1 constructor, been making prototypes for years and hugely successful in Europe, better priced, will make a UK entry this year apparently.

Depending on your PoV, running a Radical (in presumably the Radical race series) is going to be a whole load easier with tons of support than trying to run an Italian device just arrived over here I suspect.

I'd say you certainly don't need the hassle and extra cost of the SR8 or Spider, brilliant though they are. If you are running in the Rad championship, you can't use a PR6 and there are loads more 3s than 1s to pit yourself against.
