I have been doing a few speed events and have the usual non race national B licence but what's the easiest way to upgrade to national A? Can I just provide evidence of previous events entered and if so, would it matter that the last was 18 months ago?

Thanks in advance.

Did mine this year, lost my upgrade card ages ago, just emailed 5 pdfs of race results to the relavant people.

yes I did mine last year too and just e-mailed proof of race completions through to the MSA. If you give the MSA license department a call they're very helpful and will tell you exactly what you need to do.

What are you planning to do with your Nat A upgrade? Since I got mine (4 years ago) I haven't done any Nat A events and it seems to me that all I've done is pay twice as much for the licence.

Of course you get an extra run if you do the Brighton Speed Trials, which so far I've failed to do.

Similar for me. My car isn't eligible for racing in the UK without a huge air restrictor and a comedy ride height, but there are some races in France I can enter with the car running as designed. I contacted them, they spoke to the MSA and concluded I could enter with a Nat A. A Nat A is also needed for a race at Spa I may enter organised by a UK club.
