The New 750MC Club Enduro Series
Discussion
So who is racing in this next year? http://www.750mc.co.uk/formulae/club-enduro.htm
Looks like a good idea and the entry fee is a bargain considering the track time you get.
Planning on running a BMW Compact which will hopefully be reasonably competitive in class C.
Being used to single make series I am hoping it will attract a big enough grid and have similarly matched cars so there will still be some pretty close racing rather than everyone effectively running round in their own class.

I was interested in the one they did at Snetterton last year but it clashed with a prior engagement. Looking at the price though I will be looking to make an outing in it at some point next year, while im not a member of the 750mc the fact its only £20 to join makes it cheap enough.
Are you racing in the compact cup this year? Shame they are not still running with the 750mc or you could have done both the same weekend and reduced the transport.
Looking at what they have done over the last few years it seems like a way or opening up the roadsports race, which were shorted than the enduro but oversubscribed most weekends.

Wrong! I raced in Roadsports a couple of times last year, and whilst I think driving standards leave something to be desired I will probably do a similar number of Roadsports races in 2016. I like the power to weight classes although I think that a 60 bhp split is too much.
The Endurance series looks very good, and I am hoping to take part in it, although I hope they mandate 2 X compulsory pit stops to allow 3 drivers to share costs.

I was in the Scottish series but instead will be making select appearances at English rounds next year as racing Knockhill 7 out of 8 meetings gets a tad boring.I did the Race of Remembrance this year which really got me interested in endurance racing, liked it much more than the flat out 12 manic laps and you're done of the compact races. Also working out the cost per hour of endurance racing versus shorter races is a bit of an eye opener!
The Club Enduro seems to fill a bit of a gap in the market, I can find no other endurance series (which to me is a minimum 2 hour length) in the UK that you don't need have a more expensive/faster car to run in. I was looking at Britcar but the compact isn't even fast enough to qualify for their slowest class. The FunCup looks pretty good especially as all the cars are the same and is reasonable value for money when you calculate cost per hour versus compact racing but obviously your tracktime per weekend is higher so the cost per weekend is higher also. I'm looking at the Snetterton and/or Anglesey weekends to see if I could arrange a drive. My theory being a weekend with 6 hours of racing will give you a lower cost per hour of tracktime than the weekends with 4 hours of racing.

Andy, I think you'll find that they are going to alter the classes for next year which may suit you.The Endurance series looks very good, and I am hoping to take part in it, although I hope they mandate 2 X compulsory pit stops to allow 3 drivers to share costs.
The summer endurance at Snett was a good event, needs a bit of careful monitoring of how the stops work as a couple of teams took the piss on duration of stops but it call came out in the wash for us at least .
It was spread over two days which didn't suit well for me but it's all being done on one day next year which is good. Shame that one of the weekends is also shared with Roadsports when it could have been done at Croft, Mallory, Anglesey etc which are circuits that Roadsports doesn't get to.
The Enduro races are shorter next year (1&1/2 and 2 hours instead of 2&1/2) so I think only one stop will be mandated and that's what I will be asking for, it's supposed to be based round road cars and there's no reason why they can't do over an hour on track in one hit.

I do like the fact that qualifying and the race is on the same day, and I think that's important to cut down time away from the family and potential accom costs. I think that the durations in 2016 are right but I think that 2 X pit stops are the way to go as some cars can't do an hour on 1 tank, 40 min stints are long enough for most club drivers and because I think that being able to share between 3 drivers makes it all very affordable for a wider group of drivers.
I like the calendar but agree that rounds at Crosft and Anglesey would have been good, particularly to suit the more northerly based drivers who generally have to travel further than many. Mallory I'm not so sure about. I like Mallory and its location suits me but the pit entrance and pit lane don't suit endurance racing.
I need to get the engine sorted in the 924S!

It was a bit of a result when we got a round at Cadwell last year and they are starting at Oulton this time round but sadly we still get stuck with multiple visits to Snett and Silverstone that I'd have preferred to see at the northern tracks.
Regarding distance running etc, I've no problem with three man teams or small tanks but most production tanks will run for an hour no problem (including yours) and it's supposed to be a production based series so I reckon one mandatory stop is enough. Guess we'll see what they come up with on that.

Certainly I can do an hour on a tank, but it's more the fact that a 40 min stint is long enough for most people and the affordability of sharing a car between 3 drivers is attractive.
I have done both 40 min stints and a 1 hour 10 minute stint on warm days and I was exhausted! Driver endurance should not be underestimated!

I aggree with Steve it's all about driver training.....and fitness.
If you practice for it you can do it. I see new guys get out of a car after a 20min race like they have just come out of a sauna...
As an mx5 driver this is where I can gain time 1hr45 on a tank of fuel maintaining lap times +/- a couple tenths

Looks like we'll be doing this. Regs are up, too http://www.750mc.co.uk/formulae/club-enduro.htm
