As the title says, 70s and 80s cars have always raced along side each other in FC in the same classes but the classes have been split now to give cars from the different decades the chance of separate class honours.

If enough people enter (and there's time) I guess it may morph in to two separate grids/ series.

I assume this has been brought in to hopefully attract bigger grids to FC by making it fairer for some of the older cars? Hopefully it works out! I can really see this and other rival series growing over the next few years as more people acknowledge cars from this era as 'proper' classics, partly helped by the prices of buying something to run in 60's/historic classes...

I suspect that the hope is that this will lead to separate grids and to attract back cars such as the Alfa Sprints and the like which used to race in FC, so there can 2 excellent series growing out of one.

FC was always something of an anomaly as it covered 2 decades whereas most of the CSCC "age group series" covered one. Some of then70s cars have been very competitive, though. Nick Olsens Esprit is a regular winner!
