Morning All,

I'm off to Silverstone on Sunday for the BRSCC event. This will be my first visit to the "International" side of the circuit since the Wing got built (everything else I've been to recently has been on the National side). As a spectator, how do we access the paddock? I know there's a bridge over the Hangar Straight in to that area of the infield, but is there any other access closer to the Wing, ie without having to slog it all the way round the circuit to the Hangar Straight bridge! I'm assuming that we'll be parked in the usual public car parks by the main entrance off Dadford Road, so I'm hoping there's a convenient access point close to them?

Thanks in advance.

You turn left immediately after the main gate and then follow the signs. It is then about 5 miles to get there (only a slight exaggeration) and be prepared to be underwhelmed. Get there early otherwise you will be up access roads and other stupid areas as there is less than 1/2 the space available than that at the national circuit.

Sorry, I re-read your post and realise you are a spectator! I have no idea about how you can get there other than by road, sorry.

ha, yes, I'm spectating only (and supporting my mate Luke who's in the Golf GTi mk2 championship). thanks for the attempted feedback though!

Won't it be the same (old) paddock that is used for the National circuit?

nope, it's definitely the F1 paddock for the International circuit. Vehicle access is via the Hangar Straight bridge, but I don't know if there's any different pedestrian access route.

Actually the signs say to turn RIGHT immediately after the main gate. You drive all the way round the South end of the circuit, past the Porsche Experience Centre then left over the bridge. Then right at the little cross roads, past the heliport then left and follow the road round round to The Wing. I'm in the garages nearest Race Control with the Porsches.

Note that HSCC are running on the National (North) circuit on the Saturday only - BRSCC is both days.

I have also just read you're spectating! There is stupidly no footbridge to the in-field of the International (South) circuit - if they make you park outside, with both circuits in use, the only way to The Wing is a very very long walk. Sadly even though this is a club event, it looks like the car parks are outside.

Chris.

I wasn't going to say anything as I just assumed you were correcting the previous post for the benefit of anyone competing ;o) lol

I'm betting on us being parked outside the circuit, so am at the moment bracing myself for the long march all the way round to the HSB. Not too bad on the way in, but when you just want to get home at the end of the day it would be better to just take the direct route - if you see someone legging it across the start/finish straight in between the cars, that'll be me! lol

For busier meetings operating from The Wing, the circuit will often park spectators at the Drive Experience centre, and then operate very frequent shuttle mini busses down the podium end of the paddock.

great, thanks for the info and responses guys. I've just heard about the shuttles from Luke as well, so hopefully that will save some shoe leather!
