Alex AJ Clacher

Readers old enough to remember the early 1970s may remember Alex Clacher's lightning fast, self prepared Imp. In the year when he went further afield that the North-East, he established half a dozen lap records - some of them on his first visit.

I am sorry to say that Alex died on the first of May (aged 79) and was buried today at the village of Croft.

A great driver in a great car who I saw race many times - his duels with Sedric(with an S) Bell in his Mini were wonderful. RIP.
