Intercom volume

I have an OMP tech race pro intercom linked to Bell mag 1 helmets in my car. The volume is just not enough for me to hear my co driver, even when cranked up to full. Admittedly my hearing is not what it used to be, but even so, it is unusable. I have replaced the comm sets in the helmets with new but still no joy. The OMP unit runs off a single 9 volt battery and
was also bought brand new. Yes I have tried various new batteries but just can't get the volume I need. Any suggestions apart from a new set of ears?

Hi - we use the Scala Rider Bluetooth kit for kart endurance racing. It's good enough for us. Might be worth a look?I have an OMP tech race pro intercom linked to Bell mag 1 helmets in my car. Having done a bit of research and tried all the swapping around of leads etc it looks like a new intercom is the only option! Stilo seem to come out well as do peltor.Any other reccomendations? Pisses me off that you can pay good money for something that is woefully inadequate straight out of the box!I don't want to get wallet raped again.

I had the same issue with a terratrip intercom, swapped it for a Stilo, problem solved.
With intercoms, it pay's to buy the dearer versions.
Not always, these are £140+vat, amp + 2 headsets (open or full-face), pretty loud, has battery or 12v feed option. Best going for Rally spec intercoms as they tend to be louder. With intercoms, it pay's to buy the dearer versions.
