Competitor camping at Rockingham?
Discussion
There's a "camping area" just off to the left of the main access road from the gate I camped in a few weeks ago with a few others. It's basically a fenced off area from the car park. Just be prepared to pitch your tent into gravel and an air bed is essential, plus there are no facilities.
Rockingham isn't great for camping

There is a liitle bit of grass at the end of the outer paddock. Not much and its a bit rough. My lad has set a tent up there a few times.

A fair few people sleep in their trailers or vans - I've done a number of times, just need to remember to take extra layers as panel vans and trailers often aren't insulated and it can get surprisingly cold at night unless you have a good sleeping bag.
Even some of us loyal wives and girlfriends sleep in vans and trailers too!!! As Andrew said - take extra layers!! Mrs Hui
I slept in the back of my audi allroad at Rockingham last weekend. Cosy as anything - airbed, duvets, lovely. There is a bit of grass at the edge of the outer paddock, but it's uneven and chock full of stones.
Rockingham showers are crap - either blistering hot or clap cold. Bloody place
