Urgh, no weekend testing
Discussion
I totally get it, track owners want to save weekends for racing as there's more money in it than trackdays... and it's good for all of us that racing is available... but it's really annoying where there is absolutely no testing or trackdays at all at weekends.
Obviously all the more annoying when you can see from their calendars that there is nothing else on that weekend!

fair point, but if that was the restriction then you'd think they could make more money using them on weekends (when more people are free, so there might be more demand) rather than weekdays.
I could well be wrong here with regards to test days, as I can imagine many professional race teams would rather they were on a weekday, but I'd still think it would make sense to be more balanced between weekend and weekday!

We find there is a test day available on the Friday before very nearly every one of our rounds, with the exception sometimes of Donington who, because they're miles from anywhere with absolutely nothing nearby that could possibly shatter the peace, are not permitted to have a test day just before a race day.

Many circuits' restrictions are based on which day it is as well as how many days they can run; you may have noticed how Oulton runs on every Saturday but almost no Sundays. I'd think it's pretty rare to see an empty track on a weekend during the season if it can be used, the circuits are not going to turn away profitable days just for the hell of it but they were built to be raced on, everything else should come second.
