Raced in the Kumho BMW Championship for the last 2 years, pretty sure I'm going to be back there this season.

But i like options and always fancy a new challenge, so what do other people race their E36 328s in, midlands based so things like NSSCC is out of the window.

Ideas?

Plenty of E36 in CSCC Modern Classics. Most are M3 or 325 (different classes). A 328 would run in the 2500 to 3200cc class.

There are also BMWs in 750 Roadsports or MSVR Track Team Trophy, both of which have power to weight based classes.

And then if you want even longer races there are the 360 MRC 2 hour races and their annual 6 hour race. All are good vfm and the bmw should be competitive in all of them.

North West Sports & Saloons.
We are racing at Oulton x 3, Anglesey x 2, Rockingham and Mallory.
Be warned though, nearly every race is over-subscribed.

Like the sound of the CSCC, although my car would take a bit to get through the regs:

The original silhouette
(including wheel arches)is to be retained from all angles. cry
Original production aerodynamics as defined for the UK market only cry
Non production and limited production splitters, dive planes and wings are not allowed. cry

will have to take advantage of the Tester race see what its all about, all the 325's in the class below, M3's in class A, what sort of thing is in class D, also, minimum weights?

No minimum weight. Class D of Modern Classics has things like Boxsters, Vectra Challenge, Porsche 968 and S2 in it. There is a test day at Snetterton in March, can't remember the date by it will be on the CSCC web site, and you will then get a good steer on eligibility.

You could always enter the 2 litre to 3 litre class of the CSCC "New Millenium" series instead. Same principle but aero is allowed as are more modern cars.

Send a photo of your car to the CSCC office and they will discuss eligibility for either Modern Classics or New Millenium.

Looks like a good open set up, like class structure nice & simple, but not a great selection of tracks and 15 mins races is a bit short!

Like the sound of 750mc roadsports, although the cscc takes it on race calender venues with Silverstone GP & Spa. But depends how well my car fits into the class structure of modern classics or bump up into new millennium.

Pretty sure I'll stick with the Kumho BMWs this year and take up the tester option for a weekend with CSCC and look to 2016 for that maybe. Need to remember to get my licence signed so I can get the A licence for Spa.
