Radical Prosport - what race series are available please ?
Discussion
What UK club race series / championships will accept an early Radical Prosport running a 1299cc Gen 1 Hayabusa engine please ?
Castle Combe is too far for me on a regular basis as over 5 hours from me.
750MC Bikesports - I am not up to date with how big their grids are or class structure at present so will look them up
Open Sports Car Series - again I will look these up for class structure and current grid size
Radical's own series - are early Prosports catered for anywhere ?
Are there any others please ?
I am ideally looking for a club / grassroots type race series, friendly/helpful paddock and good / respectful driving standards.
Many thanks in advance.

There is a Prosport class for sure in Radical's own short race championship (now called the Radical Sprint Championship) - http://www.radicalsportscars.com/uk/racing/sprint-... - whether or not your specific variant of Prosport is eligible though you'd need to check.
Worth dropping an email to Classic Sports Car Club too to see if they have a suitable series.

Many thanks for the fast and helpful reply, I will have a look at the link you kindly provided.
I know the CSCC don't have anything currently as I already race with them in a different car.
[As an aside, I saw on another thread that you have the S2 Elise previously owned by Martin Roberts. I had some good races with Martin in the Elsie Trophy a few years back. Good luck in Cup Europe with it and I look forward to seeing your S1 out with CSCC, should go well].
Back to Radical Prosports though - Has anyone else any experience / knows of anything please ?

Cheers Steve,
Shame about CSCC as I've been very impressed with them on the comms and admin side of things so far.
It was nice I must say to give Martin's car a new home. Cup Europe has got some of the old faces from early days in the UK going back in it - and the racing in the S1 I am really looking forward to for some fun.
Winning Cup UK in 2013 was a lot of hard graft, followed by hard work of a different kind getting myself set up and established instructing in 2014 with not a lot of racing done - so I'm looking forward to getting back into it this coming season!
Good luck with the Prosport - I've often had a look at them as you seem to get a lot of manageable car for you money with them.
As another aside - what car are you racing with CSCC?

Hi Andy,
Congratulations on winning Lotus Cup UK - excellent result.
I bumped into Paul Golding at the Autosport show and he said the same thing about the old faces in Cup Europe now - quite tempting IF I had the budget for racing in Europe !
I race a Caterham with CSCC in their Mag 7's series. I can 100% recommend the CSCC for excellent organisation and communication, professionally run race meetings, good driving standards, sensible rules and class structures, excellent paddock atmosphere and damn good value for money !
The Radical series does not look like the one for me as it is very heavily weighted to reliance on the factory for parts and all engine work. Fair enough as their series and their rules, but will make it too expensive for me, especially with an old Prosport ! I would think the car / myself would struggle in class against the PR6's too.
Perhaps there will soon be enough old Radicals about for someone like the CSCC to form a race series !

Could this be an option in Class A1 Steve?: http://www.brscc.co.uk/Championships/ARROWPAK-SALO...
Surely a ProSport meets the MSA definition of Sports Car?

Hi there,
Small world indeed as I race in Mag 7's and also, for the last 3 seasons in OSS with a Prosport in class C for bike engined cars.
I would highly recommend, especially with a Prosport. It is a really well run, clean and very fast championship. In my opinion the driving standards are excellent and well policed and the paddock atmosphere and camaraderie has always been first rate. Many of the class A and B runners had a Prosport previously so there is a welcome pool of help and experience to fall back in if you need any support.
The grids are large and well mixed across most classes. The points system allows you to be competitive across classes (I nearly took the overall championship in 2013) and in class C there is a good mix of Prosports, SR3's, Pr6's and this year my co driver from MAG 7's who's bought a Clubsport.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you wanted to know any more.

Hello Graham,
Very many thanks indeed for taking the time to give such a comprehensive and helpful reply.
It is great to hear such good things about OSS and especially as you have first hand experience of the Mag 7's too !
I missed buying the Prosport I had my eye on as I was too slow to act given my hesitation caused by not knowing where I could race it - really quite gutted now as it looked to be a really good spec of car for very reasonable money and between the OSS and possibly the ROC series (if it takes off this year) there would be the type of race series /championship that I was looking for. Bugger !
I will keep my eye out for another good Prosport but in the meantime (and as the start of the race season is creeping up quite quickly now) I think I had better concentrate on getting my Caterham ready !
Many thanks once again for your input and I will try and remember to come and pester you in the Paddock at a Mag 7's race for more information and comparisions.
Best regards
Steve

Graham,
You could sell your Prosport to Steve and then buy the Enderbys PR6?

Small world indeed ! ..........
I used to spanner for / help out Andy Tidy when he raced his Prosport at Combe with you a few years ago.
Very many congratulations on your success in OSS last year, you have obviously got that PR6 going extremely well.
I think I need to educate myself a lot more on the different Radical models, but they look like the logical progression from a Caterham so maybe I will see you again soon.
Keep up the good work !
Cheers

Thanks very much, car is going well. Grahams prosport would be a good step, very tidy car with the right bits on it, same aero kit as mine. You may be able to tempt Andy out too then! Small world indeed ! ..........
