Just bought a HANS and the mountig lugs at Autosport show, got a good deal! However, went to fit to helmet and the mounting nuts/washers aren't there. Just wondering if I can buy/fit the mounting nuts or if it's new helmet time??
If there are no mounting holes for the HANS posts you need to but a new helmet. It is not permitted to drill your own holes. You'd be better off sending the unused posts back and buying a helmet with them already fitted.
It has the holes drilled just not the nut inserts behind. Was hoping to be able to buy the inserts! I know you can buy them in the US but found nowhere in the UK.
When I bought my hands clips they came with nuts so they could be fitted to a pre drilled lid.. I think the latest version are a different design-maybe they don't come with nuts anymore
