I've decided to make this discussion because I've seen a lot of people who are looking for their son or daughter to move out of karting next year and would like to either progress or do something that's a bit cheaper than the top karting championships.
So, because of this, I thought it would be appropriate to either remind you or introduce you to the Junior Saloon Car Championship.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship was a new concept for 2014 after the BARC took over Saxmax from the 750 motor club due to dwindling grid numbers. It went from 9 maximum on the grid in 2013 to 14 cars minimum this year, all thanks to some incredible marketing and a more modern look. Next year looks to be even better, with more & more people inquiring about it and becoming really interested in what the championship has to offer.

To explain the regulations simply, it's a single make championship for 14-17 year olds in equally matched Citroen saxo's. Last year, the calendar included Rockingham, Anglesey, Oulton Park, Donington, Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Croft. The championship is on the same package as the Michelin Clio Cup and Formula Renault, meaning that you're in the perfect place if you want to progress and look at a future in racing.

The championship's main aim and incentive is to offer competitive, close, exciting racing WITH A LIMITED BUDGET.Being the cheapest Junior circuit racing championship available, you can be competitive no matter how much you spend. It's also arguably cheaper than most high-end karting series. Not only is it great value for money, I raced in the series this year and last, and it was the best decision of my life, not even an exaggeration. Due to this championship, I've made friends that I have got on so well with, I actually live in Silverstone with one of them, and some others are planning to join us. That's how close the drivers get, and how much respect we have for each other!

Here is the website if you're interested, or please don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like to know any more about the Junior Saloon Car Championship.

Maybe I can elaborate on Charlie's post to add that James Dorlin who won the championship this season, was awarded a test drive with Westbourne Racing, in a Renault Clio Cup car, at Brands Hatch, and Richard at Westbourne Racing has extended the award to those finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 2015 JSCC championship. It is explained in greater detail on the JSCC website. As a result of James having a very successful test, he is now looking to compete in the Clio Cup with Westbourne for 2015!

Yeah, shows how much these teams respect this series as well!
