Android Telemetry/data loggin app
Discussion
Our new hillclimb single seater doesn't have any data logging so I'm looking for an app I can put on my phone to record the basic things - speed, location etc. I don't want/need anything to connect to the engine. Given GooglePlay has a g'zillion to offer does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

I'm a bit out of touch with the apps. Last I looked, RaceChrono and TrackMaster were the best tools out there. The most important thing (moreso than the app itself) is to use a decent Bluetooth GPS mounted in a suitable location with a clear view of the sky. I'd suggest above your toes might be a good point. You'll get nothing useful from the phone's built-in GPS as it can't cope with the rapid accelerations present in a single seater.
I use Racechrono (free - Google Store) with a Q-Starz BT-Q818 BlueTooth GPS module (£50 - amazon/eBay) which is 10hz rated so it has the same accuracy as a Vbox etc and is probably the best "performance vs cost" setup I can think of. It used for both tarmac and traditional styles of Rallying where it gets wet, muddy and generally abused for long times between charges and it also gets used for circuit work where it's still accurate at 190+mph.
I wrote a thing called clockwork autologger a while back and it should still be on play. There's a free version that should do what you need. The only slight issue is that given that it's so old I haven't tested it on any of the latest devices and screens or versions of the os but it won't cost you anything to try.
