i bought a hans device
Discussion
i recently bought a Schroth 20 degre sport 2
but i find that the Back of my helmet pushes on the hans, and so causes the 2 arms to lift off my chest (even with harness)
my seating position isnt very reclined, so i presume a large angle like 30 dgree hans , would make this situation even worse?
i put some extra pads under the arms which helps abit but they stil dont contact my chest well when helmet is in place and looking up so i can see the road!
anyone experienced this?

Sort of true I guess but belt position is crucial, there is a big long guide on the Schroth website to help get it right. If the belts break down at an angle off the shoulders it could do exactly what the OP is finding when you try to pull the belts tight, I found similar, loads of pressure on the top of my shoulders but it felt loose on my chest. Like many others I run my shoulder belts back onto the roll cages rear strut brace bar rather than down to the eye bolts in the rear seat position for this very reason, the run is longer than I would like but all the angles sit nicely within Schroth's guidelines and when the belts are pulled tight its all nice and snug, comfy with no odd pressure points. I had a big off at Brands that resulted in two of those odd angle hits into Armco, Hans probably saved my life as I was chucked about in the car like being in a washing machine on fast spin, lol. At least I know it all works, probably the best single piece of kit for the past coupe of generations.
