Hi,

I have just brought a trackday/race prepped tin top saxo and have come across an issue that I hadn't thought about prior to bringing it home.

I have no garage space to store it over the winter so is going to have to be stored on my drive. I will be getting a few uses over the winter for trackdays so won't be standing for 4-6 months, for example. While at home it will be outside on drive come rain or shine.

Can anyone advise how I can cover her up to best avoid the elements? Any specific products any one can recommend would be great...

Was thinking of wrapping up in something like cotton sheets and putting a car cover over the top thats waterproof etc.

The car is stripped, caged and has quite a few perfomance parts that I want to try and preserve as best as I can in not an ideal situation.

Thanks in advance...

A cover just lets it sweat - no chance of a light breeze drying it off.
If it doesn't have the original door and hatch seals, can you fit them?
Ditto windows.
Then polish well, including the door jambs, spray the mechanical and electric bits with WD40, and inspect from time to time. If you find water inside, try to find the source and deal with ti.

Is it road legal? Then take it to work once a week, and give it a thrash.

They do leak water so you do need a cover or a garage.
2 nd hand out door breathable car cover should be around £100 off eBay well worth buying one does not have to be model specific to cover a little Saxo!
