Renewing a license lapsed since 2006

Hi All,

Wondering if you can help.

I am looking to race again next year but haven't renewed my license since 2006.

I understand that normally if you haven't renewed within 3 years you have to start from scratch and do your ARDS again but I remember reading a post from an ARDS instructor stating that you can do just the written part of the test at an ARDS centre and get your license renewed. I emailed them about it a while back but got no reply.

Anyone had to do this or know anything about it? Would prefer to avoid the costs of redoing the whole thing if possible.

call the msa licencing dept, tell them your situation, if you can prove race results and are under 45 i *think* they will issue a licence to you on reciept of payment for said licence - again assuming nat b and not int a.

I believe you were saying it's possible to do just the written part of the ARDS and renew my license. Is this correct?

Do I need a Go Racing Pack and will I need a medical?

Feel free to email me if it's easier.

Teesside is handy enough for me. Was looking to do some testing there soon anyway.

Hi Dan, there is a possibility you won't need the medical, it seems to be a very grey area! You shouldn't need the "Go Racing Pack" either! HTH Howard
