Getting a Racing Licence After Coronary Angioplasty (Stents)

I'd appreciate some feedback from anyone who has had experience of obtaining a racing licence after having stents fitted.

The MSA Blue Book says Coronary Angioplasty MAY prevent the granting of a licence.

Thanks.

Iirc its down to what a doctor says, I'd be looking for a consultation with a doctor involved with the msa.

He'll understand exactly what the msa are looking for and probably be looking to help you get out racing if it's safe for you, rather than your normal doctor who will probably be more worried about arse covering, and have little understanding of the requirements.

Have a look in the Blue book for doctors

Speak to consultant cardiologist at Porsche performance centre at sstone. He is without doubt the best person to speak to and deal with your concerns.

Hi there

This is not a problem. I renewed my license a few years ago following the same procedure. Contact Dr Mark Green who specialises in racing medicals and understands the requirements of the MSA in this situation.
