Im asking because I'm a motorsport student living in Sunderland and was just seeing if there were any people in the area that compete. I am looking for placements and helping drivers or teams out on the weekends but after having a lot of issues with teams who aren't based local to me, i thought best to just see if there are many around my area first.

There are a lot of people looking for experience in this thread at the moment it seems, so if anybody is looking for an hand at events or prepping for events local to Sunderland email me at chrcam10@gmail.com smile

What's the teeside autodrome like ?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris I am the other driver in CTS Racing along with Dave from the post above, we are currently building 3 TVR's, one of which will be raced in the TVR challenge next year along with Dave's Griff.
What sort of thing are you looking for exactly? An extra pair of hands can always come in handy as we are only a small team made up of a few friends with a passion for racing.
Drop me a PM with your number and we can have a chat.

Hi Peter,

Well to cut a long story short, I'm moving up to Sunderland from hull in about a weeks time to go to uni.... But my uni is in Preston. I will be travelling there every week (Thursday and Friday) other 5 days of the week I will be in Sunderland.

I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible, I've done a few events ( formula ford mainly and an event with a super touring team).

So to answer what I'm looking for to answer your question, is both Working as a mechanic at events and also happy to do some workshop time too, setting up for the weekends etc.

I will email my number across to you now buddy.

Thank you

Chris

Yes Dan, what are you buliding?!?!?

There's 13 cars out in class D at croft this weekend, it's not far off getting it's own grid!

Unfortunately my fiesta is still without it's engine, but i'll be out for the final rounds on 24.25th Sept.

cheers, Steve

The car's pretty much finished now. It's taken nearly 18 months as I don't get much free time.

Thanks for the offer Chris, always happy for another pair of hands. You can pop up to my workshop anytime even if it's just for a chat and a poke about things.

Currently running it in (it's still road legal and freshly MOT'd) then need to get it on the dyno to get it mapped.

Just gotta scrape together the budget for next season. Was hoping to get it out for the last round but really pushed for time.

Here's a teaser. biggrin

Hi where are you based? I'm in Stockton
I'm building a TVR S2 for motorsport - tarmac rally or sprint - don't particularly like trackday due to no overtaking in braking/cornering rule.

Thanks for that Dan.

Take it you're running a 1600 'K', tuned to hand granade levels? !!!!

A chap ran an S1 with a VHPD 1800 in class C for a couple of years, did pretty well. I have an S2 that i'm planning on sprinting/hillclimbing too, so i need to come to see you to get the suspension set up. Just got it back from a Dave Andrews conversion! If you're heading down to watch either of the last rounds at croft (this weekend or 2 weeks time) let me know and I'll try to say hello.

Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm running a 1600 K but not hugely tuned.

Standard bottom end apart from Omega forged pistons, big valve motorsport head, cams and TBs. Revving to 8k.

It should make around 180bhp. Will find out next week hopefully.

The car only weighs 686kg so doesn't need huge power really.

I'll be at Croft on Saturday as my mate is racing in the MX5s (Alan Henderson - No.90) so we'll definitely have to haves chat. I'll email you my mobile number.

Can't make Sunday unfortunately as I'm taking the missus to the big smoke for her birthday. frown

Cheers

Dan
