TWMC Sprint @ Brands Hatch 10/9
Discussion
I am entered in only my 3rd sprint event, that takes place at Brands Hatch indy circuit on September 10th. I was just wondering if anyone other PH'ers were entered and if anyone knows the schedule for practice? Are they likely to be timed practice runs or just several cars on track together? Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

I've not done Brands (£170 for half a day!) but the usual form is that it's individual timed practice runs. There will be 2 or 3 cars on the circuit at the same time, but they will be staggered so that they don't catch each other up. As Andy says, at some circuits if (for example) the timed runs are 1.5 laps, it may be that you'll get one practice run of 2.5 laps. It should say this in the regs though.
Just waiting on the final instructions being mailed out now.
At least I've driven at Brands before. The last event I did was Goodwood and it was totally new to me and I was braking way too early. My little 316 actually quite suits Brands and I've just fitted a lower ratio diff which means I should just about be on the limiter when I brake for Paddock Hill.

Hey All - In my first season as well and am entered for Brands - have not been there before (even to spectate) so lots of YouTube time being expended at the moment...
MetCheck says some light rain through the day, but take that with a pinch of salt...
I might try and tie the day in with an afternoon trip down to the Brighton Speed trials as well, if anyone fancys a bag of chips at the seaside!!!
Andy - I need you to let CFG win the ASEMC champs, so I can get the A2 class win please!!!
See you all there
Steve (Clio 172 in Class A2)...

I won't be competing this year having only just moved house, but will be there to watch.
Because of the time constraint, TWMC usually run one practice run of 2.5 laps rather than 2 separate shorter runs. You then get 2 timed runs. There are usually 3 cars on track at once, but they are very good at spacing them so if you start smartly (within 5 sec) of the green light, you are highly unlikely to baulk or be baulked by anyone else.
It's a great circuit and a brilliant sprint. It's just a shame that MSV now charge so much for the use of the circuit that TWMC can only run it as a half day event

don't need to worry about me, If Bill in the GT3 manages to do enough rounds he'll almost definitely be on max points (180) I think I'm going to start slipping down the points table now I've got to start dropping rounds just hope Brian in the 997 GT3 RS drops down the table quicker than me! carl_w said:
We were thinking about this at the weekend: in the absence of much talent, what car do you need to beat Bill? GT2? Maybe sticking a supercharger on your CSL would suffice -- it's light enough and with 450-500bhp on tap...
On the wet run I was only .22 seconds off bill, so rain and more bravery! I'm thinking some list 1B's would be a start, then an AP conversion on the front rather than the st single pot calipers BMW provide and some suspension mods to try and get rid of some of the understeer on the airfields. I'm sure this wouldn't be enough to upset bill but it might make Brian have to work the 997 GT3 a bit harder.
In reality there's some new tyres going on the front this weekend but I'm not expecting 3 seconds from them.
