Hi Guys

I have built this

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?5522...

And I am nearing the point (after this weekend) where the car will be ready to go for map and suspension setup. Then it's a track day. Thing is I have a brand new set of Direzzas but how do I scrub them in please? What is the process and also the tyre pressure for a clio on 15 inch wheels to start off with?

How much testing have to done with this thing?

A friend of mine has done (and won) several 24 hr races in all sort of things and the last few attempts have all resulted in very expensive short lived disasters due to things like diffs, drives shafts, gearboxes and hubs breaking after only a few hours in the midfield, resulting in 3 very pissed off drivers and nothing much to show.

If relatively stock m3 and / CSL fail after a few hours I can't see a tuned Clio getting very far without putting in some serious testing before you get there.

Hi Guys

The project evolved as I built it and learnt more and it is now at the point where my mates cant afford to endurance at 5k each and I have to get a NAT A license anyway now so will do at least 6 races in Trace Day Trophy and then after that we will see. I agree with you that you can spend a lot of money on endurance and only one person get a drive, that must suck pretty bad!

Britcar are launching a production saloon champs next year I think so I could do

Track day Cup
Tin Tops
Euro Saloons
Britcar

I would still like to endurance it but we will see how next year progresses.

HI,

You and your car are probably perfect for the new Britcar Production GTN Championship next year BUT before you do that you want to get your self on circuit and do some racing. Track Day Trophy is probably your best bet for cheap 2 driver racing.

Also get yourself to a Britcar meeting (24hr race at Silverstone 1/2 October) and talk to the teams and drivers. We are competing in an M3 and are hoping to do the Production GTN Championship in class 1 next year.

Cheers

Yes will do Coxy and I do have my eyes on that firmly as it will get me involved in Britcar. Is that going to be mini endurance with pit stop etc?

I hope to finish the build this weekend smile Then it's off to Northampton for map and suspension setup. I can't wait to even just do a track day now after 9 months of spending money and building the thing. I am well excited.

Mark.

PS
Will update the build this weekend as loads more has been done, changed the fire system to a gas one now from foam.
