Did anyone do this last year? I was thinking of entering on the Sunday this year, but can't help thinking that it could end up being a bit of a damp squib.

eta - having read through the regs, there don't appear to be any handicap awards either, which would mean that i'm just there for the sport, as there's no way that i'd be fastest in class.

if people only entered an event because they thought they could win the class, there would be 2 cars in each class.

there will always be someone with more moneyand af aster car than you, do it for the fun of it not for the trophy..... you set a time in practice, try to beat it in the second practice run, have lunch, set a time in the first competitive run and try to beat it... its that simple....

I take your point, Pablo, and believe you me I've entered plenty of events when I haven't got a hope in hell of winning, but it's nice to be able to aim for a pot sometimes, rather than trundling around at the back. Handicapping is really just a more formal way of doing what you describe.

I have competed in this event twice and yes it has been damp but that is a risk we take entering for any event. Last year there was an interesting display of American Hot Rods, which had actually competed on the Saturday, static displays including a 1960's slingshot dragster, as well as a 1930's Wall of Daeth that was great to see.
The entry is always diverse from car clubs through to the BOC Buggati classes. I would put an entry in and enjoy the day.

Am thinking of entering this event myself.

My car is never going to win it's class either. In fact, every event I enter I'm really only ever really up against myself but it doesn't stop me enjoying it.
