I'm entering the ADAC-Eifelrennen pre 81 race.

Well the CSCC are racing at the Ring this year as guest of Triumph Competition, and my mk1 golf is eligble. It is going to be a epic race to be part of and the weekend in general.
Has anyone race in this or are going this year? I am trying to see if any companies are looking to sponsor teams for this event also. If anyone knows of someone at Cobra or Corbeau to speak with it would be much appreciated.

Yep, Jason and I have raced there many times in various Lancias and our old Ford Falcon. We are just about to put in any entry for our trusty Lancia Beta if we can get a cat converter sorted. Never had sponsorship so can't advise on that. If you need any other advice please PM. One advice I can give is leave nothing to chance scrutineering wise. They either check (and fail) everything or wave you through but don't take any chances.

Thanks for the scriuteneering advice, have you had to have a FIA approved cage with some sort of tag? Also I assume its HANS needed. I have just picked up a second hand Cat, and will be installing it to the car somehow soon. let me know if you struggle to find one, I have a possible contact for a scrap man whop buys the things. So should have plenty of empty shells left over to slide on your std zorst As far as I remember scrutineering is a fairly cursory affair which mainly concentrates on overalls, helmets, seat etc no need for a Hans system.
It is a huge meeting so I would leave yourself a good time to get in, get scrutineered, pay for fuel ticket etc
Unless you are a real ring expert there is a tourist session on the Thursday evening and over the years we have been out in a vintage ducato van and older range rover just to get a reminder as to which way it goes.
The one thing they are very keen on is leaks and leaky cars are not allowed out.
We will be out again this year and our hope is to get into the top 60...

Good advice - agree it can be cursery but have seen many people fail (just like at Spa) for silly thinks (belts, seat in date, foam tank, extinguishers out of date etc) hence the advice to ensure everything's okay - if they find one thing they will endeavour to find another. Re HANs, not needed. Re Roll Cage this needs to be certified by the manufacturer or FIA but please check with Hugo at the CSCC. We have a certificate for the Beta.
Re practice, you might also want to think of practicing on GT4 on the Playstation - it's pretty realistic (just some of the elevation is different) and we normally have a go or two before the event to remind ourselves of some of the corners.
BTW, we were racing our modern Fiat Coupe (yellow) in FC with CSCC at Brands earlier this year and watched you in the challenge practice - awesome stuff and great driving. You were certainly the fastest into the final corner (terrible at names). Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
