Hi folks,

Currently racing in the Scottish Fiesta Championship in the good old Xr2.

1st away round next weekend at Croft which I have never been to or raced at and this will be my 6th ever race in my short but sweet racing career!

Apart from looking at You Tube vids any hints or tips or corners to watch for? What are the corners that are bad for catching newbies out? Any links to other sites would be appreciated too!

Many thanks

If you can, arrange to cycle around the track the evening before or very early morning.

First bend is the one which takes practice.

Try not to brake to early and use all the track through Clervoix just missing the temporary marker, a quick dab on the brakes will put some weight on the front end if you get understeer! when turning right into Hawthorn dont run too wide going through Hawthorn and keep on the 'seam' in the middle, take the chicane flat.....two left wheels over the curb as much as you dare, before Barcroft keep your two left wheels on the concrete part of the track i.e. furthest to the left as possible....this will be flat as well as youll loose a lot of time of not.

Get yourself on the tail of a fellow racer who's been there before and keep it nailed behind him. Sweat it out and keep pushing for as long as you can then relax and breathe deeply as you take in the finer points of a new circuit experience. Thats practice or quali. Note the times and get your erse in gear for no compromises full on racing.

This is what happened to moi at Cadwell without thinking too much beforehand.
