bloody awful, noise restrictions at donington are a piss take, i had to ask the noise tester to repeat himself when he was telling me how noisy my car was because there was a jet taking off next door. i assume they aren't reducing the amount of flights out of east midlands airport too because they are noisy.
Well it looks like this has completely buggered my racing series for the rest of this year!
I wonder how many people bought their house at a discount due to it being near to a racetrack / airport? Then they have the cheek to complain about it.
There should be a select group told to go fking whistle about this. bds.

Racing there in the 750 MR2 Champ next weekend.
A lot of it seems to just be paperwork pushing. Our race weekend has been changed from a "major event" to a "club weekend" or something and is on schedule to continue.
Confirming Matt's post, I received an e-mail this morning from Kirk Rothwell, Marketing & Communications Executive at Donington, confirming that the 750MC meeting 2nd/3rd July is going ahead.A lot of it seems to just be paperwork pushing. The BRSCC meeting on 23 July has been cancelled (we were down for a double-header championship round of Sports 2000). Fortunately for us, we have been added to the WTCC round the week before so a good result. We're also due out ont he 6th August but we're still waiting to hear if the decibel limit is drive-by or static (if the latter, no chance!)

Have you had confirmation of this? I'm there in the TVR championship, and it's a memorial race for my dad!! I'll be well p1ssed off if they've cancelled it!!! Hope they are going to shut the airport too then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yes, it’s confirmed in Autosport today that July 23rd is cancelled.
Very poor communication from Donington, most of the organising clubs haven’t been officially informed of what is happening.
Some meetings are rescheduled others lost altogether, luckily for us in Sports 2000 it’s just a reshuffling of dates. Unless, as matlockscot says, further noise restrictions cause us problems.
I feel for you ctsdave, to have such a special race dropped must be far worse for you. I hope you can get a new date and the race is well supported.

An explanation is on the Donington website: http://www.donington-park.co.uk/pages/donington-ne...
Seems they've submitted a request to increase the number of events next year, but had to cancel some this year as they were running too many and therefore in breach of their operating terms.
All a bit crappy, but it looks like it's for the long term good
Oh, and not all the local residents are whining NIMBYs. Most of the folk in Donington support the track as it brings a living in for a lot of them. And TBH, the disruption it causes these days is minimal; the last time I can think of when it was noticalbe was the first Renault World Series where pretty much the whole UK turned up!!
