Yeah it was, it rained near enough all day.
Plus I really went to see the TVR race, but by the time I arrived around lunch time the only racing TVR I saw was being trailered out the gate!
Never mind, the Minis especially were great fun to watch, and yes, Paddock Hill bend saw a lot of action!
Just out of interest, were you using a digital slr camera?
I've been thinking about getting one.

Oh shame about missing the race. The TVR's were really good as well some good action, Something to bear in mind with the club meets is that there is nearly always proper races on the Saturday as well as the Sunday and for that reason you can pick the best day for weather.Plus I really went to see the TVR race, but by the time I arrived around lunch time the only racing TVR I saw was being trailered out the gate!

I do use a DSLR but not a very expensive one.
I have the base level Canon 1000d. I also have the normal lens for the camera, a 50-250 Canon EF-S lens and a Sigma 170-500 lens.
Sounds expensive but actually not that bad, both longer lenses were bought from Ebay, all but brand new and the 170-500 is an older version with no image stabilizer but I just use a monopod and was only £350 and it looked like it had never been used.
I only started sports photography as a hobby this season so I did not want to spend a small fortune on gear to find a did not want to do it any more.
I probably will upgrade the camera at some point but I like the results I am getting at the moment so will stick with this kit for a while I think.
Ok, thanks for that.
My digital camera is over six years old now, and has very limited zoom, so not ideal for race track photography, although there is a corner on grand prix circuit at Brands where I can get close enough to get some reasonable results.
I used to have a nice slr (non-digital) that was taken in a burglary and I never really replaced it.
Seeing your photos has made me want a dslr all the sooner! Good work.

To be honest you are better off doing what I do and go into the "island" over the bridge at Druids, lots of different angles you can use and very close to the action in most cases. My digital camera is over six years old now, and has very limited zoom, so not ideal for race track photography, although there is a corner on grand prix circuit at Brands where I can get close enough to get some reasonable results.

Your digital should be ok until you take the plunge
