Someone say fauldsport and caterhams. If any other series has 13 cars in luffield 2 half way through a race stand up now. Almost (!) no contact as well.
Good shot that cool

You can see Fauldsport cars in 4th (Sharrock), 6th (Hamilton) & 8th (O'malley who started in P28). End results were Sharrock in 1st, O'Malley 2nd, Hamilton 11th (IIRC) and Storton (not pictured) in 15th or 16th (IIRC). Good result all round and extended our lead even further in team points thumbup

We're out again at Donington this weeekend. 5 Drivers, 6 Cars, 7 Races, 2 Days. Going to be a busy one. Lets just hope they all bring them home after each quali/race in one piece...

Moving from the 750MC to BARC events, we have noticed a lack of 'fun' races.
The Radicals yesterday just played follow my leader when I watched.

Stock hatch, sax max, allcomers, the 750 club has some great carnage.

What do you like to see?
EFA (speaking as an ex. 750MC competitor!!)

Caterhams without a doubt. I don't know of another series that involves 40 cars charging round in a swarm for the whole half hour, slipstreaming on the straights and driving three abreast round the corners. Everything's there for very close racing: rubbish aero so the tow is all important, closely matched cars and full grids.

Sadly, I can't afford to race my Caterham any longer, but I'll still go and spectate when I can as it's just so entertaining!
If thats your type of racing, but you cant afford to do it the expensive way in a Caterham, why not come Locost racing and do exactly the same for cheaper? And after all the mentions for the 750MC Im surprised nobody has given the Locosts a shout... But then this time Im biased!
Hi Matt - long time no see wink

Matt, can you give me some more info on the locost racing please, or a link?

I'm just about to build the first of 2 locost's with a friend and racing them has deffinately been a thought buzzing around in my head, so more info from someone thast doing it would be grately appreciated (ie costs per event yada yadda)
http://www.locost-racing.com

Bit out of date now (errr... make that a lot eek) but most info is still sound.

Hi my first post on here although i have been lurking for a year or so now.

As mentioned by Matt and Stig the locost racing is as close as it gets with the top ten finishers regularly covered by 3 sec. Also one of the UK's most cost effective racing championships.

And yes after attending virtually every 750mc meeting for the past 22 years you could say i am a bit biased. But they host so many championships that are exciting to watch and now have the Golf GTI and the MR2's.

Cheers MattG

after the weekend at silverstone i can say.

i liked the locost racing with top 7/8 battling for third all the race.

and another championship i like to watch is the vw cup.
saw them in support to the boring gts and they were brilliant and there was action from front to back.

Believe it or not the best racing you will see happens at your local MSA kart track.

Its amazing that the pretraining ground of F1 is totally ignored as a spectator sport.

Try going to your local kart clubs monthly MSA meeting and you will see a full days racing with leads swapping on a regular basis and you won't even have to pay to watch..(except sometimes a small parking fee.)

You get closer to the action than any other form of motorsport.Hear the noise. You will sense the speed of the karts, see the drivers working and see some great battles by extremely skilled drivers not just whovever can afford to race.

I don't know why kart clubs don't promote the spectator side of things in the local press. Getting people to watch is how to keep the sport growing.

Although in fairness I would see the lack of a commentator as a handicap to new blood spectating for the first time.
