Just sorting through some picture files and thought I'd start a more local readers cars section:

My current cars in Dubai:

1 - 'Pepe the l'il' Mule'. 2006 Wrangler bought for my wife because she really wanted one, only for her not to like the 'industrial' nature of the driving experience. It's done less than 3k in the past year but I love it so...

2 - The Mustang. Great fun, but ultimately crap as an everyday drive when your job takes you to Al Ain and A.D. quite a lot.

3 - LR2. Bought for the wife and massively impressive as an all round family car. Cracking VFM too. (Sorry - only advert pics)

So there's mine. Show us what you've got...

Hitch - I'm interested to know why is the Mustang a crap everyday drive? I would have thought a big lazy V8, soft suspension and comfy American size seats would be perfect for the long schlep to AD.

I think they call it NVH in the trade. It is noisy, the interior vibrates and it is generally a harsh place to be!

Now come on, don't leave me hanging...I want to see some other metal...

All I have is the X5 mate (and a hore civic!). It's a nice enough car.....actually, it's not. It's "road" noisey, expensive to repair and is always going wrong. I paid top dollar for it and spent a fortune on it since to get it right. Actually, if I had a pic you'd be impressed, as it's a cracking colour and the interior is spotless.
Anyways, today I went to look at a replacement and am almost embarassed to say what it was....I'll start another post!

2005 Nissan Pathfinder for me (very good in the desert) and a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander for the wife. No pictures but I will see if I can take some at the weekend.

Now where is Harris and his fine collection?

Damn...... that's a nice choice to have in the morning!!

Hitch, your Wrangler looks awfully familiar, did you buy it around 2 years ago from an English lad?

Here is my weekend toy and daily driver, toyed with changing it a few times but really don't see what else offers the same bang for buck.

Would love an SRT-8 Cherokee or 911 Turbo just can't justify another big finance agreement presently.

Bought the Wrangler from a Yank chap. They did a run of them as the new model came out; the decidedly gay 'Beach Party Arabia' special edition!

The pics of the '97 M3 and the Mustang under car park lights are top work!

Regarding which to drive in the morning, sadly both the GT3 and 'grale have been in the workshop for ages dealing with various (user-induced) issues, so I don't get the choice right now. Otherwise the turbo wouldn't get a look in. In fact, I'm minded to sell it after the summer.

Love that! There's something very cool about a Mustang from the front. Ever considered taking the spotlights out the front grill?

Cheers.

Only way to achieve that and not have it end up looking like a V6 is to fit the Shelby front end. I ike that but not enough to swallow the cost!
