It seems like it is warming up already and I am seeing a number of adverts for the summer golf passes where you can play 18 holes from June - mid September for a flat all-in fee.

I have just recently started and just got my 28 handicap last month. Am really loving the game so I think I will make the plunge and join the Dubai Creek pass, which seems good value (AED4375 for unlimited golf 7 days a week, carts included, discounts at Proshop and F&B outlets etc).

Will try and get out on the course early on the weekend or play 9 holes during the weekend twilight hours.

Anyone else play at the Creek?

If I were to choose one summer membership it would be Jumeirah golf estates.

4.5k iirc covers both courses and will a heck of a lot easier to get a tee time as there are so few members.

Considering it but if you play once a week it works out to 280 chips a round. There will be weeks I don't play and I like the variety of different courses and lots have a summer day rate.

Currently an EGf member only, handicap is 3

3? Bloody hell!
I've just received my clubs from the UK so will start to play soon. 18ish for me. The creek looks lovely from the road. Played the Emirates a couple of times. It's nice, but the creek looks nicer with all the water.

Hello mate,

I've only played the Majlis. It was lovely, but I rekon I've played better in Florida/Bahamas. I first played the Majlis whilst my father-in-law was visiting. He said that was the best course he'd ever played, and I couldn't swear the same. Perhaps I'm not good enough to appreciate it, but The Ocean Club in the Bahamas brings back fantastic memories, for the same kind of money....maybe I just had a good round!

The creek looks shorter and tighter, with more "scenery" and water. Of course I could be tlking complete bo!!ocks, but just the impression I got!

Any course here is long if you play from the 'proper' tees wink

I love majlis its my favourite course here although Yas is well worth the drive and the green fee, spectacular course.

We're spoilt here, comparatively but pay through the nose for it. Creek is good but I think I preferred it before they changed it.

I'd heed the point on tee times at the Creek. I know a couple of full members and they have more of less fixed slots each weekend. Plus, in the summer you can only really play early in the morning or late if you're under flood lights - so whilst there might be fewer people playing it can still be busy when you want to get on.

I have played at Yas, a wallet lightening AED800 for a round. Great course for scenery but one of the holes scarred me (something like 5 putts to hole out).

Going back to the original topic 'golf in the summer'

Not sure how long you have been here OP but it's f*cking tough, no matter what time you play.

Quite a few of my mates can't physically get round 18 in the summer!

I'm a big fan of the Creek course - have to be intelligent rather than hit the st out of the ball and hope you can make the best of the 7,000 yard par four on the other 'world class championship level' courses.

Don't play as much as I'd like as the fees are simply ridiculous. Used to play off 16 in the UK bit probably back around 20-22ish.

I don't play anymore during the summer - it's torture.

3 years. And I will try and go back to London for a fortnight during Ramadan!

I remember playing a round at the height of the summer last year. Drip drip drip over the ball whilst trying to putt...it's not easy. Plus the need to replace your glove at regular intervals...

I think I am still going to go for it and try and tough it out. Can't be a fair weather golfer all the time smile

A saline solution drip is more appropriate.
