Well, had the car a month now and have been looking at the potential for a reflash. A bit of basic research has come up with the Revo Stage 1 tune that should give around 400bhp. The official suppliers here are TAM and I have been in touch with them already.

But before I push the button thought I would ask the assembled PH masses for their opinion/experiences/alternatives of having this done locally?

PS if anybody could let me know how to add pictures I will get some pics up of the new motor.

1. Click 'Reply' to this thread.

2. You will see a little hyperlink just above the textbox saying 'Upload an image (beta)' Click the link

3. Click 'Browse' then select the pictures from your files.

4. A double click on the picture should bring it through.

5. Then press upload and jobs a goodun!

Its fecking expensive locally to what you would pay anywhere else, thats for sure, however, TAM is a very well run workshop, not cheap, but well run and your car will be very well looked after.

I take it your car is not under any Stealership warranty?

Thanks for the advice so far. The car is under warranty which is the reason I was looking at the Revo option. They have a box of tricks that allows you to reflash to standard before sending to tha garage for servicing etc

Lovely motor DubaiJohn. I think I saw you cruising down the SZ the other day. Same car anyway and there can't be too many.

Do you think its worth doing a bit of REVO magic on the GTI or too much power in a front wheel drive car?

Thanks

@ 6th Gear I did not get my MkV tuned but from what I understand they can quite easily handle a flash to around 230/240bhp. The only thing I would suggest is that to a little research on th effects of reflashing a MkVI DSG box. They can alledgedly handle the increased torque and bhp but better safe than sorry.

There are some really good forums out there for the golf.

Also if you are thinking Revo which means via TAM would suggest a PM to a user on here called Ron Fellows first....

I am contuning my research into tuning at the moment and I sure that whoever I find will be able to do anything from the VAG group so will let you know what I find. You have the same worry as me which is invalidating the warranty.
