Last Race of the Season

April 15th & 16th is the last race day of the current season. 15th is practice and qualifying, 16th is race day. The Middle East Porsche GT Supercup is the guest starring on the bill with the championship going down to the wire (my old friend Shk. Salam Khalifa is leading the championship) so it should be a goooood couple of days.

So book the wife into the spa and bring yourselves and the kids down for a fun day out. If your kids want to sit in a race car and have a picture, then drop into the a2b motorsport garage (which one to be confirmed) and we will gladly oblige.

Normally you would ask what are we going to do on weekends during the off season. Well for me it is simple, we are going to strip Spencers race car down to the bare shell and do a full ground up rebuild. Despite out plans we will finish the night before the 1st race.....

Mrs John is off to Al Ain wildlife park today on a mini photo safari with her mates and as I appear to have some kind of insomniac gene at the moment may very well pop out to get the car washed and pop up to the 'drome around 11ish. Look out for me I'll be the one in the violently blue TT.

Did anybody make it to the circuit? For some reason I decided that not only was I going to help my usual team (a2b motorsport) run 3 touring cars I also decided that I could the YAS Marina Triumph team. So I was up and down the pit garages and pit wall like a madman. Oh yes, we changed the engine in Spencers car on Friday....

Still we finished 2nd in the class touring car championship (Spencer) and one of the Triumphs (Moody) won his 1st ever race (class win) at the autodrome.

Was out of the country. Nice report - sounds like you had a busy day, Ian. That little beemer is a proper scrapper - good to see it doing so well.

On another note, I guess you've now heard about Karim's hearing at the ATC and subsequent ban following the last GT round at Yas.

Oh yes, the results have done the rounds. Very happy to see that action has been taken and that it will affect him (no more racing this year and missing the start of next season). Rumour is that DAMC are looking into things as well. Are you going to the Champions bash on Thursday night, I am? Wonder if Karim will turn up?

Yep, I will be there. I doubt Karim will. TBH, I feel sorry for him. He's taking a right bashing on Petrolheads and some of the comments are getting very personal.
