It's nearly that time of year again..... Motorsport Season!!

Now I know that without a slingbox I have no hope of the BTCC, WTCC or even the WRC but surely, surely there must be a channel here that shows the F1 with British commentary??

Failing that, a bar somewhere (preferably Dubai) that will be open for business for quali and the race next weekend?

Over to you....

Nope, not that I've found. I used to have over 1800 channels, and not one of them showed the F1 with English commentary.
The Motogp is on today in Qatar, and I can't even find that. Tis one of the most annoying aspects about being here! Tried to view it online, but as usual that doesn't work either.

I'm looking around the net at the moment and it seems that maybe it will be on Abu Dhabi Sports 2 with Arabic commentary (free to air) and Sports 6 in English (subscription)
Do you have those channels with a TV guide that you can check?

Alternatively the best way appears to be a seperate dish and subscription to South African satellite TV which gives you Supersport who show more F1 than the BBC even and all in English.
Downside is that you need a 3m dish apparently, but needs must lol

If you have the Premiership football you have the F1 in English, Abu Dhabi Sports.

AD Sports 2 in Arabic was the best(!) I could find last season and that was with the OSN Sports package. Normally resort to BBC Sport lap by lap text commentary (or BBC Radio 5 live via the web).

I'm still living in a hotel apartment at the moment, so I have nothing in the way of decent TV channels!

I think long term I'm going to set up a slingbox at my place in the UK and use that to control my sky+ and watch that way, as long as I can get a decent net connection here I should be fine.

For the Aussie race, I guess I'll have to try and find an Internet feed on Justin.tv or something.

You can get the pictures with arabic commentary on one of the local channels - I then turn down the sound and listen to the BBC radio commentary on Radio 5 Live (you'll need a VPN like "Witopia" to tell the BBC servert hat you're in Londo).
