Can anyone on this forum help me out please. I am interested in buying or importing a Porsche 928 in Dubai. Does anyone know of either any for sale locally or if the importing procedure is worthwhile. I'm not looking to import for profit if i go that route I just want the car for my own pleasure.

There is a purple 928 gts for sale with 78000 kms on it.

As always Paul Denby, the sales manager at Alex Renner Motors is the font of all knowledge on which cars are on the market, and he might be able to source one for you. He may try to put you off though... a hell of a car, but also a hell of a headache to maintain (parts availability in particular will start to frustrate you).
Thanks for the welcome and the info guys. Was a bit nervous about posting as its my first time after a long time lurking on various sites (you never forget the first one as the old saying goes).
I saw the purple one on the autotrader website and sent an email to them enquiring about it but as yet no reply. Does anyone know anything about this car?
There is also a white S4 at a place called Al Hai Motors in Deira but again no reply (i will call them both as that seems to be the only way to get a response).
I just fancy having the big V8 wrapped in a german skin for a bit of fun actually, always fancied one but just never got round to it. Could be the biggest headache ever but at least it will get rid of the urge once and for all and it certainly wouldn't be the worst car i have ever owned whatever happens, that dubious please goes to a Lotus Esprit Turbo back in the day......ouch!

Hi, I have a 928 here in Dubai. There are always a few available but most have been neglected. There is a nice sliver S4 for sale with 14k on the clock, however the price seems high (AED 85,000) but it does seemed to be looked after. The purple GTS is ex saudi royal family and has every option known to man, but has been neglected and would cost a bit to get up to standard. It runs, but has a/c, sunroof and needs a new timing belt, water pump and diff service, there is AED20,000 getting that fixed. I purchased my car for AED 15,000 and at present have put about AED 40,000 into getting it up to a standard where I can drive it every day without issue (it not my every day mind you). They are a good car out here and different, parts are a pain, but I have a porsche diagnostic computer, pet, etc so that helps. Any questions just pm me.

) but it would depend on if the the asking price is realistic. There are always plenty of cars for sale if you look hard enough.mmm....

I did see that one on Dubizzle but thought it was very expensive for an S4 even though it does look a top notch car (I'm not knocking the car or price but just not what i would pay for an S4).
I think i would be too scared to drive it with only 14K on the clock.
At that price i could pick up a good GT or GTS from the states or europe and import it here which would be my preference.

The sl's are a great car but be very careful to have the wiring harness and the hydraulics for the soft/hard top checked out before buying the car (R129) as i know from bitter experience.
