Hi guys

After getting a puncture yesterday and stupidly thinking I could still make it to the garage without much fuss, I need two new tyres. One to replace the punctured/split one and also replacement for the well-worn one on the opposite side.

I've previously had the alignment done at Fancy Tyres and they seemed ok but was wondering whether anyone had an alternative recommendation?

Cheers

Chilli

Not really. I paid 3600 for 2 rears, and 2800 for 2 fronts. This was at AutoPro in Mirdif (attached to the petrol station).

Holy st. The guy at the petrol station (Bur Dubai) quoted me 750 per tyre for Dunlop SP Sport Max (R18) which I though was reasonable. Would rather go somewhere closer to home though (Downtown).

I paid 3200 for all 4 18" for the 4x4 from bridgestone on SZR, with free additional aligment after a further 10k.

Then from the Germany Tyre Company on the 44 I paid around 4000 for 4 tyres on the porsche, but these had to be brought over from germany for me as not standard sizes for out here

Just got a pretty good quote from Fancy so probably heading there as it's quite handy for where I live. A mate also said Bridestone on SZ were good but I want to keep the same brand all round and I only need to replace 2 at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I got all 4 tyres changed at the weekend (worrying cracks on the sidewalls of all of them) and the difference is incredible. I was always a bit of a sceptic about the difference made by new tyres but not now... my old ones must have been truly knackered becuase the ride is so much better with the new ones and the noise level is significantly reduced too.

Pirelli do an excellent deal if you are registered on evolve.ae

I got 4 Pirellis for the new 21 inch wheels on the Tahoe. They are huuugggge pieces of rubber. Cost about 4k.

@ dictys, was that the best place you found for Bridgestone?

A mate put a horrible gash in the sidewall of a 21540R18 Bridgestone run flat on a 135i last night and as there is no spare the car is stranded where it happened until he sources a replacement.

Bridgestone have quoted him 1200 chips, anyone got anywhere that would be better?

I used the main bridgestone showroom next to vw showroom on the szr.

I compared the price with the similar uk price and thought it was a reasonable deal so didn't bother to look elsewhere

I dare not tell you what I paid for 4 Nitto NT555's for my car: x2 19/245/40 & x2 19/275/40's from Pirelli here in AUH, incl wheel balancing and alignment.
