So as not to clog up the other thread I will, as advised, start my own!

At some point in the next week or so I have a meeting here in Dubai with the boss to tie down specifics on the job offer that will see me relocate from Angola to Dubai (though I'll still be travelling occasionally to Angola, Iraq and other places)

From the PHers that have already been through this, what topics should I be looking to cover at this meeting?
I've got the obvious salary, travel, time off etc etc

What did you miss that you regret and what did you remember that you're damn glad you did?

Try to get your basic salary as high as you can!

Any bonus is payable on your basic salary only, so it's in your employer's interest to keep this as low as possible and make up the difference in allowances for housing, car, transport etc.

Clearly, it's better for you to get a higher basic salary and decide for yourself how you spend it.

Good luck!

If you will be briing wife and kids (if you are married etc) then have a look at the school fees for different schools as they do vary (and by not a small amount). Check on the medical provision as well and who pays for the residence visa for the family (now every two 2 years).

One thing that catches people is holiday. They say you get one month per year, but often don't say this has to be taken all at once.
