Track Day at YAS Marina Circuit

I went along to the Track Day at the Circuit last night. Great fun and some nice metal turned up (not as many cars as I had expected). The next one is on 1st Jan! 650 dhs for a half day session...

Hi ya...I went to one about 6 months ago for a full day...and I thought, while the circuit was great, the organisation, coupled with the stupid driving of a few of the locals who kept crashing, was pants! They need to take a leaf out of the British Circuit's books and do open pit lane, with some days for novices only and other days for more experienced people. The splitting of two groups of drivers on the same day, where one group has to wait while the others are on the circuit just leads to those waiting being bored and those on the circuit not really having enough time to get the most out of it :-(

Sorry about the whinge...I'm glad I did it, but shan't be doing it again until they change how they do it.

Tomorrow evening the Porsche Club UAE will be at Yas. 85 cars and always impeccably organised.

Novices are required to do two training events before being allowed to do open pit lane with the intermediates.

I'm going to the Porsche day tomorrow, are you going Harris? I will come over and say hello, are you in a cup car? I am in a white GT3 in the novice 1 group, middle eastern looking guy with a lot of stubble!

Hi S1MMA. I'm instructing novice 1 group. Will look out for you. Won't have the Cup car tomorrow. Will be in the cobalt blue GT3 but might not get a chance to play with it.
