HELLO,

I've just moved to Abu Dhabi,

I arrived on the 30th October and was put up in the Fairmont for a week, which wasn't a bad start and then relocated to my apartment in Khalidiya without much!. So off I went to Ikea to get the bare essentials in a taxi!.

I then discovered Fanzone down the corniche which was less than 10 mins walk, so have been spending my evenings down there and be-friended the guy who runs the Dbox simulators.

The F1 drivers are doing autographs from 7.30pm tonight and Massa and Alonso will do a few laps against each other on these simulators so should be another good night.

Very please I have made the move, the wife arrives this weekend and we will have our airfreight and container by the end of the month. EID has delayed this process!.

I will be working mainly in Bahrain and Qatar with some Saudi action as well. Does anyone out there have any recommendations about Saudi, I know the basic do's and dont's.

Any mountain bikers out there?, I would also like to try some dune bashing any trips organised?.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Matt

Basic rule for Saudi is go there as little as possible. No seriously the place isn't that bad once you get used to shops closing for prayers, driving standards (like there aren't any) and nothing opening until middle of the afternoon on a Friday. Yep I have spent months living in Riyadh over the last 5 years.
